Want to attend one of my public/community group sound baths? Please visit my Events/Groups page for more information.

Want to host your own private group sound bath?

Please be sure that there are a minimum of 4 people in addition to yourself. The maximum number of attendees is dependent on your space. Each person needs a comfortable space to sit or lay down in an alert yet relaxed way. The entire session is about 60-75 minutes with a variety of instruments. We will then take approximately 15 minutes or so for group discussion about our experience. The community sharing and learning deepens our practice and connections.

You can also request a gong bath as I have multiple gongs.

I’m a certified, trauma-informed practitioner, and I play in a way that’s soothing to your nervous system. My approach is gentle—I don’t create loud, jarring sounds or intense gong crashes. You’ll hear and feel the instruments, but always at a comfortable, calming level designed to support deep relaxation and healing.

Something you may not know that goes into the cost and time of doing a private sound bath

A one-hour sound bath requires approximately four hours of work for me.

Why? My instruments are kept at my Lone Tree studio for private sessions, so they must be carefully packed, transported to your venue, and then returned. Upon arrival, I spend about an hour mindfully setting up to create an immersive experience. After the session, another hour is needed to pack everything up and transport it back. Once at the studio, I spend an additional hour resetting for private sessions. This time commitment is in addition to the duration of your sound bath.

**If you are looking for a private session for you and one other person please book a pair session. These sessions are customized for you and happen in my studio. Go here and scroll down to pair session for more information.

Are you a yoga instructor interested in having a sound bath for your class or retreat?

We can work together as a team to offer an amazing experience for your yogis! I can offer a sound bath during your class and/or add a sound meditation at the end when they are in shavasana. I can also offer a separate sound bath or Yoga Nidra with crystal bowls. We can also customize classes together!

Below is short video of a community sound bath. Sound baths can be customized based on your event or class.

How to prepare for attending a sound bath and what to bring with you:

  • No experience necessary! You do not have to know how to meditate to enjoy and benefit from a sound bath.

  • Arrive early to find parking and get settled in. I recommend being inside the venue around 10-15 minutes early so you don’t feel rushed and you can settle in before we start. **Please note for sound baths at Buka Yoga - we lock the door at the start time so if you arrive late you will not be able to get into the building.

  • Either wait to eat until after or if necessary eat a light meal prior.

  • Wear comfortable clothing and dress in layers because sometimes it is difficult to manage the room temperature.

  • Bring with you: yoga mat, and comfort items like a blanket, eye mask or cloth to cover your eyes and small pillow for your head. Some even like to bring a pillow or small padded mat to lay on if laying on a yoga floor is uncomfortable for you.

  • Be sure to hydrate before and after, especially after. Some can get a headache if they don’t hydrate enough after the experience.

A sound bath and a meditation are similar in that both promote relaxation and inner awareness, but they differ in approach and experience. A key thing to remember, be open to receiving and go into it with no expectations as each experience is different:

1. Guidance vs. Passive Experience – Traditional meditation often involves focused attention (e.g., on breath, a mantra, or visualization) and may be guided or self-led. A sound bath, on the other hand, is a more passive experience where participants simply lie down and receive the sound vibrations without needing to actively concentrate.

2. Use of Sound – While some meditation practices incorporate sound (like mantra chanting or binaural beats), a sound bath is entirely centered around the healing vibrations of instruments like singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and tuning forks. The sounds help shift brainwave states and induce deep relaxation effortlessly.

3. Physical Effects – The vibrational frequencies of a sound bath interact with the body on a cellular level, promoting deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, and energy alignment. Meditation also has physiological benefits, but a sound bath can provide an immediate shift without requiring mental effort. In fact sound has been shown to allow us to get out of our beta brainwave state, where we spend the bulk of our day, into the alpha and theta brainwave states where we dream and experience deep relaxation. It can also facilitate creativity and intuitive insights.

4. Accessibility – Many people find sound baths easier to relax into, especially if they struggle with traditional meditation. The immersive sound helps quiet the mind naturally, making it a good option for those who find sitting meditation challenging. Be open to receiving and go into it with no expectations as each experience is different.

Both can be deeply transformative and even complementary—I often combine meditation with sound healing for a more profound practice.
